Danny Glover will host Jeri Brunoe's "Salmon Woman" in a benefit for the American Indian Prison Project Working Group at St. Paul's Ordway Theater

Jeri Brunoe, whose acting resume includes films such as “Buffalo Soldiers,” television appearances, commercials and various theater roles, will host a special performance of her one-woman show “Salmon Woman” at St. Paul’s Ordway Center for the Performing Arts to benefit the American Indian Prison Project Working Group on Aug. 23, 2014. Brunoe’s friend and “Buffalo Soldiers” co-star Danny Glover will serve as host for the evening as well as appear at a special VIP reception with Brunoe following the performance.

"Salmon Woman" tells the story of one woman embarking on a life journey that echoes the transforming nature of the salmon. Through song, dance, and the narration of five characters, she tells the story of growing up on an Indian Reservation. From the dark, oceanic depths of sorrow to the healing light of calm waters, she braves the currents along many seasons of change to survive — and finally thrive in triumph.


Danny Glover and Jeri Brunoe will host a VIP reception following the show. Special VIP Post-Show Reception with Danny Glover and Jeri Brunoe, Wascoe Tribe, writer and performer of Salmon Woman.

The one-night-only event takes place THIS SATURDAY, Aug. 23, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m. A VIP reception featuring both Glover and Brunoe will be held immediately following the performance from 9:15 to 10:15 p.m.

About The American Indian Prison Project

The American Indian Prison Project creates space to provide restorative practices in the prisons, specifically for American Indian juvenile and adult populations.

They are not state funded, and the proceeds from this event will continue the Talking Circle at Minnesota correctional facilities in Red Wing and Shakopee, plus the juvenile facility at Red Wing.
